Trinity Alumni Association

Most Holy Trinity High School opened in 1915 and was closed in 1972.  For almost sixty years it provided quality education for young men of Brooklyn and beyond.  The high school was staffed by Marianists Priests and Brothers and dedicated lay people.

Most Holy Trinity Elementary School graduated its last class in June of 2005.  The school was staffed by Amityville Dominican Sisters and dedicated lay people. Most Holy Trinity School had the unique distinction of being the oldest parish school in the Diocese of Brooklyn that had continually educated students from 1841 until its doors officially closed in 2005.

It is our hope that we will be able to develop this page in order to promote the Trinity Alumni Association, to give tribute to the Marianists Priests and Brothers, the Amityville Dominican Sisters, many dedicated lay staff and faculty members who served so faithfully, and as a place for alumni and friends to visit.

Please email us at [email protected] if you are an alumni, friend of the high school, and/or former faculty or staff member.  We would love to hear from you and to be able to make contact with you.  Perhaps you might be able to help us to develop this page with your stories, photos, information and memories.  Thanks!

Memories shared by Alumni

October 18, 2005:  Discovery of this site and an actual trip to the church over the past summer was awe inspiring.  Having graduated from MHT High School in 1964 I have memories of Brothers Lindemann, Pint and a few others whose names I can't recall just yet.  I used to go into the church during lunch periods and practice on the organ.  I also played the organ with the school glee club at the Vatican and New York State pavilions during the world's fair.   Thank you.

September 30, 2005:  I remember getting off the 14th Street Canarsie Line and going right into the diner adjacent to the station; then walking to the high school. Those cold winter days!  We used to call it the coldest block in B'klyn. Is the luncheonette still there?  What is the old neighborhood like?  Are the high school classrooms still there?  If so, what are they being used for?  I saw pictures of the church.  It still looks the same.  I remember Fr. Bacci and Fr. Abrams giving great sermons capturing my attention on Friday afternoons. Great memories! Please let me know...... anything!I look forward to hearing from you.  I presently teach Spanish at a college on Long Island. I owe most of my success and motivation to the Marianists at Trinity and the University of Dayton. Hasta la proxima

December 27, 2005:  I was recently in New York and was fortunate to be able to visit my beloved church with my husband and daughters. The kind people at church were nice enough to let me in on a Saturday morning. I cannot tell you how I felt when I walked in and was able to show my family the church where I was baptized, received my first sacraments and the school that I attended from kindergarten in 1957 through graduation in 1966.  I was so overcome with emotion that I forgot the names of the two people who gave me a copy of the bulletin along with the web site for the church.  As I was reading the information on the web site I saw that you are requesting information from the different graduation classes. My sister also attended MHT and graduated in 1958.  I have vivid memories of MHT and I still have my First Communion Missal and my graduation autograph book with the names of all the sisters who taught me.

October 27, 2005:  I attended MHT from kindergarten to 8th grade. Graduating in 1973. The Education I got at MHT was the keystone of my life.  Last week while visiting my parent I had a chance to attend services and see the church renovations. It was like going back in time. The Church looks wonderful.  I would love to be on your contact list, I am a presently a Computer Programmer specializing in Web Based computer systems.  How can I help?

- Joseph J. Kane (JJ), ES Class of '73
