The Pastors Who have Served Most Holy Trinity:

He was the first and founding pastor.  He served from 1841 until he died in 1861.

The Rev. John Stephen Raffeiner, V.F.



He was the second pastor.  He served from 1861 until he died in 1895.

The Right Rev. Msgr. Michael May, V.F.



He was the third pastor.  He served from 1895 until he died in 1908.

The Right Rev. Msgr. Peter Dauffenbach



He was the fourth pastor.  He served from 1908 until he died at the age of 55 in 1919.  An interesting note is that Fr. Schneider died suddenly while on a trip to Curacao--where he is buried in the priests' plot in the cemetery at Otrobanda, Curacao.

The Rev. Frederick M. Schneider

The following obituary about the Rev. Frederick M. Schneider appeared in "Historical Records and Studies" of the United States Catholic Historical Society in May of 1920:

Rev. Frederick M. Schneider

          The Rev. Frederick M. Schneider, Rector of the Church of the Most Holy Trinity, Brooklyn, died on July 18, 1919, in Willemstad, West Indies, where he had gone for his health. Father Schneider was born October 31, 1864, in Brooklyn. When he was six years old his parents died and he found a home in the orphan asylum of the Holy Trinity parish of which he was president at the time of his death. He studied at St. Francis Xavier's College, New York, where he was graduated in 1886, and at the Jesuit Seminary at Innsbruck, Tyrol, where he was ordained on July 26, 1890. Father Schneider had been Rector of Holy Trinity church from August 18, 1908. He was vice-president and treasurer of St. Catherine's Hospital, and member of the Board of Managers of Leo House, on State street, New York.

He served as "Administrator" for six months after the death of Fr. Schneider.  He served from July, 1919 until December 10, 1919.

He was the fifth pastor.  He served from 1919 until 1931 when he departed Trinity and became the pastor of St. Thomas  the Apostle in Woodhaven, Queens, New York.

He was the sixth pastor.  He served from 1931 until he died in 1940.

The Rev. George M. Dorman

He was the seventh pastor.  He served from 1940 until 1946.

The Rev. George S. Herget



He was the eighth pastor.  He served from 1946 until 1958 when he departed Trinity and became the pastor of St. Edmond in Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn, New York. 

He was the ninth pastor.  He served from 1959 until 1966.

He was the tenth pastor.  He served from 1966 until 1968.

The Rev. Peter J. Seeger

He was the eleventh pastor.  He served from 1968 until 1982.

The Rev. William P. Vaskas

He was the twelfth pastor.  He served in January of 1982, sadly dying less than a month after his appointment.

He was the thirteenth pastor.  He served from 1982 until 1984.

He was the fourteenth pastor.  He served from 1984 until 1988.

He was the fifteenth pastor.  He served from 1988 until 1997.

He was the sixteenth pastor.  He served from 1997 until 2006.

The Rev. Russell Governale, OFM Conv.

He is the seventeenth pastor.  He has served from April of 2006 to the present.
